Clara Shih

CEO and founder

Clara Shih is CEO and founder of Hearsay Social, whose predictive analytics technology helps salespeople reach out to clients at the right time with the right message while staying in compliance with industry regulations. A pioneer in the social media industry, Clara developed the first social business application in 2007 and subsequently authored the New York Times-featured best-seller, The Facebook Era. Her latest book, The Social Business Imperative: Adapting Your Business Model to the Always-Connected Customer, was released in April 2016. Clara has been named one of Fortune’s “Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs,” Fast Company’s “Most Influential People in Technology,” BusinessWeek’s “Top Young Entrepreneurs,” and both Fortune’s and Ad Age’s “40 Under 40.” She was also named a “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum, InvestmentNews’ “40 under 40,” and “5 to Watch” in ThinkAdvisor’s 2015 IA 35 for 35.

Clara is a member of the Starbucks board of directors and previously served in a variety of technical, product, and marketing roles at Google, Microsoft, and Salesforce.com. She graduated #1 in computer science at Stanford University, where she also received an MS in computer science. She also holds an MS in internet studies from Oxford University, where she studied as a U.S. Marshall Scholar.

Steve Garrity

COO and founder

Steve Garrity is COO and founder of Hearsay Social and an expert in developing scalable enterprise software solutions. Hearsay Social provides the Predictive Omnichannel Suite for the financial services industry, empowering global financial services teams to efficiently and successfully use social media, advisor websites, personalized email, and text messaging to reach the right client at the right time with the right message in a compliant manner. Before founding Hearsay Social, Steve worked as an engineer at Microsoft Corporation in Seattle on the Azure.net Services platform, live mesh and mobile search technologies. He is a graduate of Stanford University with a BS and MS in Computer Science. While at Stanford, he was selected as a Mayfield Fellow in the Stanford Technology Ventures Program. During which, he joined Fortify Software as a product manager. Steve is also an investor in, and advisor to a number of Silicon Valley start-ups. In his spare time, he enjoys ultra-marathons and Ironman triathlons.

Mark Gilbert

VP, Products

Mark brings more than 15 years of enterprise and consumer product design experience to Hearsay Social, having served as head of product for a variety of key business units at Microsoft including System Center, Visual Studio, and Bing; driving technical and product strategy for Microsoft’s $17 billion server and tools business; and building out Microsoft’s product presence in Europe and Asia.

Bob Moss

VP, Engineering

Bob joins Hearsay Social as the Vice President of Engineering. From 2009 to 2015, Bob served in various roles from Director of Engineering to Vice President of Platform Engineering and Chief of Engineering Operations at Mozilla Corporation, where he was a member of the senior leadership team. Prior to Mozilla, Bob held senior engineering and operations management positions with such companies as Yahoo!, Packeteer, Red Hat, Cygnus Solutions, Netscape, and Tandem Computers. He also served as the first Steering Committee Chairman for the Open Web Device Compliance Review Board.

Bob has continuously blended his versatile technology background and leadership skills to establish, lead, and retain top-performing engineering organizations focused on delivering great products, continuous improvement, cost control, and a best-practice approach for seamless product cycles.

Meagan Hency

VP, Marketing

Meagan Hency leads the global marketing team at Hearsay Social. Meagan took on the marketing leadership role after over three years leading product marketing at Hearsay Social where she worked closely with financial services and insurance firms to help them understand the evolving technology landscape and adapt to today’s ever-changing social and mobile customer. Prior to Hearsay Social, Meagan lead product marketing at Marin Software, a leading cross-channel performance advertising platform and services operations at Fortify Software. With a background in engineering from Stanford University, Meagan has a breadth of enterprise technology experience, focusing on tools in the area of digital marketing, social media and security.

Yasmin Zarabi

VP, Legal and Compliance

Yasmin brings over 15 years of corporate legal experience spanning both privately-held and public technology companies. At Hearsay Social, Yasmin is responsible for the company’s legal affairs including, commercial, compliance, regulatory and privacy matters. Yasmin is a thought leader in social media compliance for the financial services industry and often writes and speaks at events on social media compliance. Before joining Hearsay Social, Yasmin has held various senior legal positions at technology companies in Silicon Valley. Yasmin has earned a JD from Golden Gate University and BA from University of California, Berkeley.

Patty Buckley

VP, People, Culture & Operations

Patty is responsible for Hearsay Social’s phenomenal people, culture, and operations. Prior to Hearsay Social, she oversaw finance, legal, business operations, recruiting and HR at Index, a Khosla-backed enterprise retail tech startup. She was formerly the COO of Friendfactor, a tech-focused non-profit. Patty started Google’s offices in Brazil and Argentina. There she oversaw AdWords Online Sales and Operations across Latin America while also leading the company’s US-based AdWords teams for Eastern Europe, Korea and China. Prior to that she launched the company’s agency vertical. Patty has served on several non-profit boards and received her MPA from Harvard, an MBA from Stanford, and a BA in Political Science and Hispanic Studies from Northwestern.

Abhay Rajaram

VP, Customer Success

Abhay is passionate about delighting Hearsay Social’s customers. His team is focused on driving successful implementations and professional services, managing ongoing engagements and education programs with customers, and delivering world-class customer support and services. With nearly 20 years of experience in product development, product marketing and customer enablement, Abhay is a recognized business leader and regular speaker in the world of customer success.

Prior, Abhay was Vice President of Customer Success at YouSendIt (now Hightail) where he built the customer success organization from the ground up, delivering industry-leading customer satisfaction and retention rates. Previously, Abhay managed product operations, strategy, pricing and training for Cisco’s Security Technology Business Unit (STBU) and also held product, engineering, and marketing management positions at IronPort Systems, 3Com Corporation and Wipro Technologies.

Abhay holds an M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology, India.

Stephen D’Angelo

VP, Global Sales

Stephen comes to Hearsay Social with over 25 years experience building high performance global sales organizations. His leadership roles have been in some of the most innovative market segments including social, mobile and big data. Prior to joining Hearsay Social, Steve was Senior VP of Sales for Kony Solutions, the leader in mobile application development solutions. Other market leading companies Steve has held leadership positions with include Jive Software, IMI, and Optum Software. Steve was also co-founder and CEO of Spring Lake Technologies that provided innovative predictive software that enabled companies to hire and develop high performing sales professionals. Steve has spoken to audiences worldwide on the topic of using world-class methods to build and scale high performance, highly motivated sales organizations. Steve sits on the advisory board of early stage companies, a school for children with Autism and Montclair University Business School.

Chris Andrew

Managing Director, UK and Europe

Chris has strategic oversight over all aspects of the European business from sales and partnership development to customer success. Chris was the first employee at Hearsay Social and has over 10 years of high tech experience having led senior roles in Product, Customer and Sales. Prior to Hearsay Social Chris worked in Product Management at Intuit.

Jason Suen

Managing Director, Asia-Pacific

Jason is responsible for Hearsay Social’s business across Asia-Pacific where he serves the fast-growing and diverse needs of customers in the region. Jason was an early member of Hearsay Social’s Customer Success team, where he led the growth and scaling of the team globally. He also drove some of Hearsay Social’s largest deployments in partnership with its clients. Prior to joining Hearsay Social, Jason spent four years in Salesforce.com’s Customer Success organization working with clients spanning the mid-market to the Fortune 500. His background includes financial services at Royal Bank of Canada and entrepreneurial work as the co-founder of a successful online media startup in 2006. Jason is an Honours Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
