Clara is CEO and Founder of Hearsay Social and a pioneer in the social media industry. Hearsay Social is the leading social sales and marketing platform, empowering the world’s largest companies to build stronger customer relationships, grow revenue, and bolster their brands across social networks. In 2007, Clara developed the first social business application, called Faceforce, and subsequently authored the New York Times-featured bestseller, The Facebook Era: Tapping Online Social Networks to Market, Sell and Innovate, now used as a marketing textbook at Harvard Business School. Clara has been named one of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs, Fast Company’s Most Influential People in Technology, and one of Businessweek’s Top Young Entrepreneurs.
Clara is a member of the Starbucks Board of Directors and previously served in a variety of technical, product, and marketing roles at Google, Microsoft, and Salesforce.com. She graduated #1 in Computer Science at Stanford University, where she also received an MS in Computer Science – User Experience and Design. Clara also holds an MS in Internet Studies from Oxford University, where she studied as a U.S. Marshall Scholar.
Steve Garrity is CTO and Founder of Hearsay Social and an expert in developing scalable enterprise software solutions. Hearsay Social is the leading social sales and marketing platform, empowering the world’s largest companies to build stronger customer relationships, grow revenue, and bolster their brands across social networks. Steve has been highlighted in The Start-up of You, a new book by LinkedIn founder and chairman Reid Hoffman, as exemplary of the entrepreneurial spirit, and has been featured on Jon Sakoda’s blog as an example of a great founder. Before founding Hearsay Social, Steve worked as an engineer at Microsoft Corporation in Seattle where he developed the Azure.net services platform. He is a graduate of Stanford University with a BS and MS in Computer Science. At Stanford, he was selected as a Mayfield Fellow while studying Computer Science.
Mark brings more than 15 years of enterprise and consumer product design experience to Hearsay Social, having served as head of product for a variety of key business units at Microsoft including System Center, Visual Studio, and Bing; driving technical and product strategy for Microsoft’s $17 billion server and tools business; and building out Microsoft’s product presence in Europe and Asia.
Jeremy brings over 14 years of startup and large company experience, with a focus on large-scale enterprise applications and security. Previously, he was Director of Engineering at Vontu and Symantec where he ran Engineering and QA for several DLP product groups. He graduated from Stanford University.
Caitlin has a broad and deep background in finance and accounting, including public accounting, and over 15 years of technology industry experience. Previously, she was VP of Finance at Sugar Publishing, an online media company, where she built and led the finance and accounting teams. Prior to Sugar, Caitlin worked in a number of software and technology companies, managing and growing teams in the areas of corporate and international accounting, revenue recognition, finance, and investor relations. Her experience ranges from early stage start-ups up to publicly traded companies. After earning her BA in Economics and Urban Planning from Connecticut College, Caitlin began her career at Arthur Andersen.
Yasmin brings over 13 years of corporate legal experience spanning private technology startups and public companies. Before joining Hearsay Social, Yasmin was Senior Corporate Counsel at TIBCO where she was responsible for negotiating licensing transactions, providing advice on data privacy and implementing data privacy compliance for the company’s SaaS business. Prior to TIBCO, she served in a variety of roles including General Counsel and Associate General Counsel for companies such as Gracenote, a division of Sony and Versata, now Trilogy Software. Yasmin has earned a JD from Golden Gate University and BA from University of California, Berkeley.
Kristin brings over 20 years of sales experiences to Hearsay Social. She leads our talented national sales team and is focused on sharing the value of the Hearsay Social solution with the business community. Kristin was previously at Google, where she most recently led Enterprise Sales in the Northeast region. She has held sales roles at industry-leading technology solutions companies such as BearingPoint, Virage (now Autonomy), Sun Microsystems, and NCR Corporation. Kristin holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Liberal Arts from Villanova University.
Before joining Hearsay Social Bill worked for MarkLogic where he helped grow the company from its first customer to a $90 million annual run rate. Bill has 15+ years of sales and sales management experience helping companies introduce innovative and new technologies into a wide variety of markets. Prior to MarkLogic, Bill was in sales at Oracle where he managed strategic accounts. Bill holds a bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Cruz and a masters degree from UC Berkeley.
Lee M. Gammill, Jr., retired Vice Chairman of the Board of New York Life Insurance Company, previously served a 40-year tenure at New York Life Insurance Company, where he began his career as an insurance agent. An unmatched leader in the financial services industry, Gammill has also served as Chairman of the Board for the Life Underwriters Training Council (LUTC) as well as Chairman of the Board of the Life Insurance Marketing and Research Association (LIMRA) International. In 2004, the American College awarded Gammill the Huebner Gold Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the College.
Nick brings more than 14 years of enterprise security expertise to Hearsay Social. Previously, Nick was CEO of LiveOffice (now Symantec Enterprise Vault.cloud), provider of the leading cloud email archiving solution, acquired in 2012 by Symantec. Prior to LiveOffice, Nick was a Vice President at VERITAS Software (acquired by Symantec), where he ran the market-leading Enterprise Vault (formerly KVS) email archiving and e-discovery software business.
