Clara Shih – CEO and Co-Founder
Clara is the CEO of Hearsay Social and is a pioneer in the social media industry as an engineer, celebrated author, and thought leader. She developed the first social business application, Faceconnector, kickstarting the social CRM movement. She is also author of the New York Times-featured bestseller, The Facebook Era: Tapping Online Social Networks to Market, Sell and Innovate, which is now used as a marketing textbook at Harvard Business School. Clara was named one of FORTUNE’s Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs of 2011, one of Fast Company’s Most Influential People in Technology, and one of Businessweek’s Top Young Entrepreneurs of 2011.
Clara, who also sits on the Starbucks Board of Directors, previously served as a marketing executive at Salesforce.com, where she led the company’s social networking initiatives. She has worked in corporate strategy and software development at Google and Microsoft. Clara holds a BS in Computer Science and Economics and an MS in Computer Science from Stanford, as well as an MS in Internet Studies from Oxford, where she studied as a US Marshall Scholar.
Steve Garrity – CTO and Co-Founder
Steve is an expert in developing scalable enterprise software solutions and leads the best team in the industry at Hearsay Social. Before founding Hearsay Social, Mr. Garrity worked as a Program Manager and engineer at Microsoft Corporation in Seattle where he developed the Azure.net services platform and worked as a Product Manager at Fortify Software. He is a graduate of Stanford University with a BS and MS in Computer Science. At Stanford, he was a Mayfield Fellow while studying Computer Science.
Caitlin Haberberger – VP, Finance
Caitlin has a broad and deep background in finance and accounting, including public accounting, and over 15 years of technology industry experience. Previously, she was VP of Finance at Sugar Publishing, an online media company, where she built and led the finance and accounting teams. Prior to Sugar, Caitlin worked in a number of software and technology companies, managing and growing teams in the areas of corporate and international accounting, revenue recognition, finance, and investor relations. Her experience ranges from early stage start-ups up to publicly traded companies. After earning her BA in Economics and Urban Planning from Connecticut College, Caitlin began her career at Arthur Andersen.
Amy Kelman – VP, Customer Success
With over 15 years of industry experience, Amy has a deep background in social software and customer advocacy. Previously, she was VP of Customer Success at Lithium Technologies, where she led Strategic Services, Professional Services, and Global Customer Support for Lithium’s rapidly growing client base. Prior to Lithium, Amy was VP of Global Strategy and Operations at BEA Systems (now part of Oracle), managing a full range of customer services including support, consulting, and education, as well as services marketing and SI partner programs for the Enterprise 2.0, Portal and BPM product lines. Additionally, Amy was VP of Worldwide Professional Services at Plumtree Software, where she was instrumental in building and growing a services business that delivered successful business solutions across various industries, including technology, retail, finance, and consumer packaged goods. She earned her BA from the University of Virginia.
Amy Millard – VP, Marketing
Amy is a cloud-based software marketing expert, a Facebook and Twitter addict, and a regular conference speaker on the subject of marketing and social media. Prior to Hearsay Social, Amy led marketing for several global software companies, and she also ran a division of Netscape. Amy earned her BS in Electrical Engineering from Rice University and her MBA from Stanford University.
Rob van Es – VP, Global Sales
Rob knows what it takes to run a successful sales team. He brings 17 years of experience in the software industry from sales management positions at startups and leading global enterprises. Prior to Hearsay Social, Rob was at Fortify, where he defined and grew the sales organization until Fortify was acquired by Hewlett Packard. Before Fortify, Rob was at Pure Software in Europe and, through the acquisition by Rational Software, transferred to Rational/IBM in the US. Rob earned his MBA from the University of Maastricht and has a BA in Marketing from the HEAO Business School in Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.
Kevin Zellmer – VP, Business Development
Kevin is laser focused on making our customers successful on social media. He is a serial entrepreneur and early evangelist of the Internet and social media, holding executive roles at technology start-ups since 1996. Prior to joining Hearsay Social, Kevin served as VP of Strategic Business Development at KickApps, the provider of a SaaS social publishing solution. He has led business development, sales, and marketing teams at FiveAcross.com (acquired by Cisco Systems), and Beyond.com. Kevin also serves as a board member at Artist Web Management. He earned his BA in International Relations and finance from the University of California, Davis.
Kristin Shevis – Director of Sales
Kristin brings over 20 years of sales experiences to Hearsay Social. She leads our talented national sales team and is focused on sharing the value of the Hearsay Social solution with the business community. Kristin was previously at Google, where she most recently led Enterprise Sales in the Northeast region. She has held sales roles at industry-leading technology solutions companies such as BearingPoint, Virage (now Autonomy), Sun Microsystems, and NCR Corporation. Kristin holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Liberal Arts from Villanova University.
Jim Lee – CIO in Residence
Jim has over 20 years of experience as an IT executive working for Fortune 500 financial and insurance corporations. Most recently, he was Chief Information Officer for Marsh’s North America Region, where he led the IT transformation program and is the recipient of multiple IT recognition awards in innovation from InformationWeek, JD Powers and AM Best. Prior to joining Marsh, Jim was Executive Director, CIO – Americas and Head of Managed Accounts Operations – Americas for UBS Global Asset Management. As CIO – Americas, Jim was successful in developing a STP platform that enabled streamlined information flow from prospecting, account opening, and account servicing through reporting. Jim earned his B.B.A. in Finance from Adelphi University where he is currently an Adjunct Professor teaching courses in Management Information Systems.
